Back to Square 1

It seems my second semester has really caught me off guard... this time around. Decisions and amending decisions by lecturers I find unfair. They say the one thing and then they do the complete opposite. My head is spinning right now and I need to feel the ground just to make sure that I'm still sane at least.

Today is just one of those days when you try to do something, but every time you find yourself doing the same things over twice.. and its Wrong( frustration face!). At the end of the day you just want to be assured that what you are doing is correct and that you don't have to be plunged back to square 1!

If you didn't know this, back to square 1 is a terminology used to express how far you really are... be it in life, you career or just plain simply trying to finish off work! This is not an Ayoba feeling as it makes you feel as if you are going nowhere reaaaaaaaaaaaaalllll slowly.

Too many changes due to lecturers the decisions just puts me back to square one as I have to regroup and draw myself towards myself. Re-calculate each assignment and everything else.. .ai ya ya!

In essence, I'm just so fuzzed right now and its a beautiful day in Cape Town... ooh the temptations.

Until Next Time.. Chow Bella :)

“Rock journalism is people who can’t write interviewing people who can’t talk forpeople who can’t read” - Frank Zappa

I'm not really familiar with the quote “Rock journalism is people who can’t write interviewing people who can’t talk for people who can’t read” ", but after some researching, to my understanding, it's a very bold and rightful statement that was made by Frank Zappa.

To my understanding, he mocks journalists who think they can write about rock without proper knowledge and research. In other words, when you read rock journalism, you might as well through that paper out of the window, or hand it over to someone who can read, because the content is a whole lot of Bull Shit.

As a rock composer, producer and electric guitarist, he has a valid point. Its like writing an article about drug addiction, but yet you know nothing of the substance other than research and interviews, but no real hard core experience.

In other words, if you want know what it takes to be a rock star, you need to live and become like a rock star. Experience what rock stars experience and go through. This doesn't necessarily mean become a druggie, or a freak in the park, but a merely living or travelling with a rock band for a year, and experience their lives in a present and not past tense presence.

This statement applies to all genres of topics, that research goes beyond just Internet and reading books... it's about living that experience that makes your article more worth while reading.

I hope this statement has opened you eyes for future journalists.

Until Next Time... have a great day!

What motivates me?

This question sounds so simple to answer, but when you sit down and think about it, you’ll find that its actually much harder. The first thing that springs into my head when this question comes up is friends, family, my surroundings and my goals.

Friends play a vital role in one life when it comes to making big decisions, and seeking advice. They are the people who help assist you in steering clear and getting you on the right track. If you they are steering you in the opposite direction then you should know that they are not good news or genuine friends. The friends I have, most of them really stimulate and motivate to do my bestin life. I’ve never been very deadline driven, but ever since I’ve been friends with new people, they’ve motivated me to meet deadlines and I have!

Family was there since the day you were born. They are also the builiding blocks who helps to sculp your vision and thouhgts of life, what to and what not to do, right from wrong and they are the ones that motivate me to the best I can be in whatever I choose to do. When you are old enough you should be able to have a vision of where it is you’d like to be one day and achieve all the goals you aspire to. If you come out a home where both your parents raised you, and played an important role in your life, chances are that they are more influential that being raised by a single mother or dad. Reason being that being raised by only one role figure does not always instill a balance in the way you should think or be, you are only being stimulated from a female or a male figure. Due to the fact that male and females are very different in many ways, it is always a good thing to have guidance or input from both parties.

I always try and surround me with positive people and a good environment. I believe successful people drive people in weird and mysterious ways, and definitely contribute positively in one’s life. Its also a good idea to surround yourself with your future goals, things that remind you of why you are where you are and have that constant reminder of what you are meant to finish.

Lastly, my goals and passion drive me. No matter how down in the dumps or bad day I have, by ensuring that I have future goals, it keeeps me motivated and makes me see the end of a dark tunnel.

Until Next time… chow bela!

The 10 most unexpected consequences of being online

1. Forgetting to log out and allowing others to view your personal information
2. Missing an important appointment because you are so hooked onto social networking
3. Forgetting to switch off the stove and ending up burning your food.
4. Forgetting to log out of your Internet banking account and allowing others to take money from your account.
5. Not realising that everything you post onto the net, is flying around in cyber space waiting to be hacked in and use that certain piece of information against you!
6. Accidentally chatting to someone you don’t even know!
7. Trying to multitask and you end up emailing your boyfriend but it was intended for your friends eyes only!
8. Gossiping to a friend and accidentally sending it to the person you’re gossiping about?
9. Forgetting you’re online and discovering that people actually went onto you facebook and gmail only to sneak and find out what I was up to?
10. Winning the lottery but actually they only want your banking details so that they can take the money in your account and leave you broke.

These are a few consequences I was faced with once upon a time, or it happened to my friends and made me realise that you have to be clued up when you’re on the Internet. People have ways and means of hacking and retrieving information from your personal accounts without you even being aware of it. Its best to log out of all your sites properly, before rushing off. In the end it will be beneficial to you.
