With all the Soccer World Cup hype that took South Africa from strength to strength, and made us realise that when we are the hosts, we come out in style and the’ show dem’ who and what we as a country are made of. We set aside out differences, came out as a nation and represented only what we knew best, how to come together as a nation and celebrate an auspicious occasion, that only passes by our doorsteps once in a life-time.
The only big question that remains is... how will we all feel the day after the World Cup? Its a scary feeling, knowing that everything goes back to the way it was before that world cup, but does it all have to go back being the same?
Take our public transport transit system as a perfect example: in my experience; I’ve had a safe and fun journey travelling by train to and from Cape Town during the world cup. The extra bonus was having so many police on the train, feeling safe, secure and coming home as late as two in the morning, knowing you’re going to have a safe trip home. The fact that the trains operated so late at night is totally awesome! This would reduce drunken driving and reduce the traffic on our roads don’t you think?
Having police patrolling the streets every night, if only we always had this, this country would be safer, and people would actually want to go out, knowing they will be safe and knowing that if anyone is too drunk, we could simply take a train or bus home.
If we want to be one country, the government needs to listen to the needs of its citizens and it would be great to have it as a norm in this country. Even more so, having trains arrive on time like they did in the world cup, even though close to the end like last night, the trains were running late again.
One must wonder if this is just who we are or can we actually change the way we think and function as individuals and citizens. If we could pull it off this world cup, surely it opens the gates of possibilities and change and that it is possible.
On the 12 July 2010, I think we should all review what happened in the world cup, keep the good things and let the bad ones go, or fix what was done unfairly and do things the write way for once in our human life!
Lovely chatting, chow bela!

Cape Town finally buzzes with world cup fever!

If anyone was wondering when Cape Town was going to get on the ball in terms of the Soccer World cup and the fever, well believe it or not, Cape Town was alive with surprises when they hosted their last semi-final match.
As we all know, Cape Town is known as the ‘City that Sleeps’ and believe me it took us a while to wake up, but when we finally awoke, I’m telling we through the greatest parties and atmosphere ever! Last week Tuesday was the last match that was played at the Greenpoint stadium in Cape Town, sad but true. Nevertheless we came out in style and I was proudly Cape Tonian on that day. It was an experience I will treasure and store in my long term memory storage space forever!
We all came out in different races and different cultures, and proved to the world, the tourists that Cape Town is in fact unique, united and the most beautiful town to visit in South Africa. Many of us in Cape Town had debates of why the opening and closing ceremony was hosted in Soccer City, Johannesburg, and that they did not give Cape Town a chance, or the opportunity to shine not only as a city, but as a nation.
In my opinion, I would think that it was a political issue that will always striff in South Africa as long as we all different. Tuesday night proved that it didn't matter whether we got and opening or closing ceremony, because deep down we knew Cape Town Rocks and so did many foreign spectators, even the favourites of the world cup... Brazil!
We were truly unified as people, and South Africans. What a great celebration we had. And not forgetting the Hollanders who won that evening- Go Netherlands! Go go Cape Town!
To Ayoba-ness and K-Nako!

Special Days are for Every Day!

Today is my special day... My Birthday!!! The feeling inside is so rewarding to think that I have come this far, and I'm still living life and alive and well. I think that birthdays should be celebrated everyday. that way when you its your birthday the following year, you look forward to being a new age because deep down you know you made being 25 a good 25th year in your life.
By celebrating your age everyday, you know that you are special and that each and everyone of you do have a purpose on this earth. It keeps you so much younger... like the saying goes... you are and look the way you feel. This is true and definately has manifested in my life.

I want to give thanks to people that come into our lives and love us unconditionally. People who you can trust and put your faith and trust in in dyer times of need and sadness.People who come through for you when you least expect it. People who know how to surprise and cheer you up, all the people who knows where the party is at and how to have a blast from the past. People who give you an adrenaline rush through your veins and makes your explode with passion and love all over again. People who come into your life for a certain period of time, but leave a lasting tattoo in your life, you'll probably never forget them, and who knows, you might just meet them again!
Don't forget your guardian angels who are always watching over your shoulder... you know they there when you get a tingling feeling aver your face... its price-less and fearless.
And then also to the people who are the complete opposite to good people. People who are two-faced, who teach us that in life don't judge a book by its cover, or people who abuse others, which teaches about our self worth and that we are much better than being abused by others. People who pretend and who are not truly who they are, and you learn to love yourself and accept how God has made us, and how we are truly own our individuality and there's absolutely nothing wrong with embracing it. How do you know this... those time when you break out in a terrible unstoppable laugh that tickles your stomach for days, those are usually my best moments, a true good lekker soes n crecker laugh..lol
I would like for you to go out today, and shout out.. I love my life!!!Embrace what Life has given to you, be it small , be it big, the most important thing is to always appreciate with what you have, and build lasting memories through your experiences.
I wish that you will have a truly special day with me in mind, body and soul.

Crazy Night in Cape Town

Have you ever felt like you just wanted to get out a bit and have fun in Cape Town, but you totally underestimated the evening, and its turns out greater than you’d expect it to be. This is what happened to me this past weekend. I decided to get out after a long first semester at varsity and just wanted to let my hair down and dance... and that’s just what happened, just much better.
We didn’t really have any direction as to where we were headed, just that we would end up in town. My sisters friend tipped us off that Cubana was having a Doctor Doctor party. I’m not really a lover of Cubana in Somerset Road but we didn’t have a specific spot so decided to make Cubana our first stop.
This time around it was very different; different crowd, foreign people and there was just this energy about Cubana. The people, it felt like we all came together under one roof from different cultures, continents, countries, race, it was absolutely a magnificent sight to watch.
There were an old couple at the bar, the man enjoying his whisky while his wife enjoyed her vodka, but all very friendly and sociable people. IF one had to cut out the foreign people it would just be like any other Saturday night at Cubana; highty- tighty and mighty (the money bags) where everybody observes everybody… boring.
This night was quite special because we met so many foreigners from England, Egypt, Lebanon, India, many of which came from the Eastern side of life and the earth. We had the time of our lives. It was absolute fun; just being able to go out have fun with everyone feels like we are all family.

The barmen were putting up a marvellous show with fire making cocktails with flying shakers, and the music and the setting all tied in to complete the ambiance of a spectacular evening. Even South Africa’s big hit “make the circle bigger”, well believe it or not, they were all singing and dancing to the beat, was quite hilarious at the time... hehehe.
I think this is just the beginning of endless party nights in Cape Town as we count down the days, minutes and seconds to the soccer world cup! It’s here people, what are we waiting for… lets embrace, meet, network, socialize, fall in love, but be sure to be a part of this amazing experience that’s busy taking the city under its toes for months to come. Ayoba-ness ;)
Until next time… xoxo
Try a Cliche`

Did you know a cliché is so cliché; they’ve made a site called http://www.clichesite.com/. Today I decided to pick my favourite cliché that appealed to my life. It’s boring liner… lol but it called out my name today so let’s please hail down for this cliché and not discriminate now (drum roll)… and the cliché for today is : ‘Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today!’
This cliché in a nutshell is saying, ‘do what you can do today and get it over and done with, then rather taking the procrastinating roller coaster and never really getting to finish your work.
Well today is that day for me. I do not want to procrastinate anymore than I know I can and would, but at the end of the day all the work piles up and you establish a disease called ‘STRESS’. I’m always getting the symptoms but I refuse to join the party and look 50 when I’m actually only 25.
This cliché I will be manifesting in the years to come and the months that are left in this year. I refuse to be a victim of ‘stress’. Many of my class mates love to get stressed, have migraines, become sick and eventually stay at home because the doctor has diagnosed them with this nasty stress disease.
I wouldn’t like to go into that slump because once you do; you never seem to come out of that mexi- coma.
The next time you want to use a cliché, choose one that actually brings true meaning into your life, a saying you can use to assist you in being a stress free human being on this planet.
Why wait until tomorrow when today is still at its peak. The day only ends at midnight after all.
Just imagine you are Cinderella and your curfew is at midnight, and you need to finish what you started without leaving anything over until the next day, because then it would be too late and the prince will never find your slipper because you thought you'd only drop your slipper next day, do you really think they would look for it? No ways, you snooze; you lose (another cliché).
Just remember cliche` aren't just words, it represents images, sayings, acts of people that get labled and we are ones that create these cliche`s, by allowing someones figure of speech or catchy phrase grip and stick to us until death do us part.
What cliché do you relate with best? This cliché was my ultimate motivator and I’ll use it until I manifest some goals and achievements… starting today!
Until Next time… xoxo
The Lesbian French Kiss!

I will never forget the days I French kissest a female… or no actually females. In my opinion if you want to live a little on the edge and try new things, try to kiss a girl.
It was a crazy night with my boyfriends and girlfriends, we were having complete innocent fun, until the dare came up that my best friend and I smooch each other. At first it was a real joke, but after a few drinks, it was almost as if we were drawn to each other like two magnetic fields and we just hit if off smack down. It was hilarious because afterwards we laughed, then went on to analyzing the kiss… typical females I tell you. But we were really close at the time, so we never hid anything from each other and would say how we feel about each other be it good or bad, we had a straight friendship relationship, lol.
There are the few who have tried this and the many few who would not dare… me, it was in the moment, we just did it. Lips clutched together and a fluttery feeling of ‘wow this is so weird, yet so awesome’. The best part is when you would end up being the entertainment of the party, especially for those ogle guys that say ‘another kiss, just one more kiss, please!’ And the priceless look on their faces when they stare and their mouths opening wider and wider. Results: ‘Yor my bru that was so cool, do it again, do it again!’
Would I do it again? If it is in the moment, and I was just living it up a little, I would most probable do it again. If you wondering, ‘is this chick actually gay?’… I’m not! I would say I’m just comfortable being in my female skin and being open minded for new experiences as they come along. Sure there’s a line we draw in each one of our lives as to how far we would go. Me, I just do the kiss. I think it’s because I really enjoy kissing. Its very sensual and it’s the binding of two people’s souls, somehow intertwined from a mental and physical sense. HHMMMmmm… makes me want to kiss someone right now!
Would you be brave enough to try this act? I call it the Lesbian French Kiss!
Until Next Time… xoxo

Feelings Follow Behaviour!

Feelings follow behavior… um yes I would agree with this statement. To my understanding, how you feel sends out different behaviours of yourself, be it good or bad.
I agree because when it comes to loving someone or being in love with someone, the heart and mind combined conjure up the weirdest craziest moments ever, hence from the feelings you enact within yourself. The things we would do for love are so much stronger than what you wouldn’t do for love.
Our actions speak louder than words and always manifest throughout of lives be it good actions or bad, they become imprinted in your life like a permanent tattoo. That is why you always get that saying ‘think before you speak, or think before you act?’. Bottom lines, when your actions have spoken, they’ve spoke n and there’s not a dam thing you can do to change of reverse the past. It sucks, I know, but that’s reality.
These experiences occur a lot when you’re in love and the love you have for one person turns into anger and the next all you see is red. You don’t think straight, you just act like a turbo injected car that has been turned on and off you go with force, with no one being able to control or able to stop you. Your actions act out due to your strong feelings for that person and it can end up being the things you regret for the rest of your life.
In my life, I’ve always practiced patience and diligence with people. I try not to upset myself or allow my feelings to override my behavior. Then there are the times when arguments splurge out of control, they become ugly, and when you know you are saying the meanest things you would never have imagined yourself saying out loud, let alone your behaviours that follow it.
At the end of the day, it’s always good to be aware of what goes on within yourself, the feelings that are embedded into your physical being the day you were born. Once you are aware, you can realize the consequences, risks, and opportunities that go hand in hand with what you feel and the outcomes of that feeling.
This topic is open for discussion don’t you think?
Until next time… xoxo
